In 1922, formal application was made
to Knox Presbytery for the formation
of Goodwill Presbyterian Church
by Rev. N. A. Johnson, Mr. & Mrs. Charles
West, Mr. & Mrs. David Ricks, Mr. &
Mrs. Walter Johnson, Mrs. Susie Wilson,
Mr. George Muldrow, Mr. & Mrs. Providence
Anthony, Mr. David Prince, Mrs. Mariah
Newkirk, Mrs. Dorcas Hudson, Alex Rogers,
Thadus Benjamin, Samuel Cooper, Willie
Ben, Julius Mitchell, Samuel Johnson,
Mr. & Mrs. Ed Johnson, John McCoy and
Will White. The Presbytery granted permission
for the Church formation.
Rev. N. A. Johnson became the first
minister of Goodwill. The Church was
located on the corner of North Eight
Street, Fort Pierce, Florida.

Through the years several ministers
have accepted pastoral call to Goodwill.
They were, namely, Rev. T. A. Robinson,
Rev. P. W. Toney, Dr. S. D. Thom, Rev.
W. M. McLean, Rev. H. W. Shaw, and Rev.
Frank D. Morgan. Rev. Richard Baxter,
Rev. McIntyre, Rev. Holder and presently,
Rev. Robert L. Coleman.
On August 11, 1963, the congregation
moved to our present location at 606
North 29th Street. The dedication of
the new Church was September 15, 1963.
Goodwill Roots have continued to grow.
Goodwill is affiliated with Presbyterian
Tropical Florida, USA.
Our Church motto: "Come to Goodwill,
where Everybody is Somebody and Jesus
Christ is Lord."
